Veterans Matter does not duplicate any services. Duplication would mean veterans getting two deposits. We have the operational agility to serve veterans where they need us most. While there are other programs providing deposits, none – including ours – can meet the entire national need. Our Collaboration Leverage especially works well and has the greatest leveraged impact when an area has available federal funds from the Supportive Service for Veterans Family programs (SSVF).
SSVF can provide veterans with money for furniture, utility deposits, back-rent, or deposits. Because communities use Veterans Matter to cover the lease up costs for solely homeless veterans, it can free up the SSVF money to provide back rent and prevent other veterans from becoming homless. So a donation or investment in Veterans Matter not only houses one veteran, it prevents another from becoming unhoused.
