Ken Leslie, Veterans Matter National Housing Program Advocate in Chief, has been speaking to nursing students at Owens Community College. Instructor and partner in compassion, Kim Holman, has been inviting Ken for the past six years to speak with her students in the hopes of inspiring them to help people and change lives.

With a smile, Kim said, “It’s always a pleasure having Ken visit our second-semester nursing classes.”

Through an explanation of  Veterans Matter National Housing Program’s history, Ken inspired students to use their power of 1 to help others. He said, “As future nurses, you’re going to be called upon to help people in pain, and not just from physical wounds, but from emotional ones, as well. This is the power you have!”
