John Needed Help — For Himself and His Children

John was just like many Americans today, facing difficulties making ends meet and living month to month. Suddenly for John, the bills and life’s challenges proved too great and he and his family were homeless.

He said, “I was going through a rough time, encountering a lot of obstacles in my life and it got to the point where I just couldn’t keep up with my bills anymore.”

It would have been terrifying enough for John to face these difficulties alone, but to make the situation even more urgent, John had four beautiful children to take care of as well.

“Not only did I have myself to take care of, but I also had four little ones to provide for and keep safe as well,” said John with determination.

This is where you came in and through your generous support of Veterans Matter, we (in cooperation with the VA and the HUD-VASH program) were able to immediately assist John and his babies with the security deposit and first month’s rent.

With a smile, he said, “Working with Veterans Matters has been a really fluid process, without a lot of red tape and I would like to let them know how appreciative I am.  I also want to remind other veterans that there is always help available.  Utilize your resources, you have both earned and deserve them.  Thank you again.”

Yet, it’s us that thanks you, John. It’s the least we can do for those who gave the most.
