Shawn has been with Veterans Matter for over 7 years now. She started as our Housing Advocate and later became the Lead Housing Advocate. In 2018 Shawn was promoted to Director of Operations and then to Executive Director in late 2020. Shawn is an Army veteran and comes from a family of veterans. Helping to make sure that veterans are taken care of and housed is just one more way she gets to keep serving her country.

Shannon’s journey at Veterans Matter began in 2018 as the National Housing Advocate. In 2020, she took on her new role as Director of Operations.  She is from a family of Veterans and consequently has a soft spot for Heroes in uniform.  When she’s not at work, you may find her running out on the road.  Additionally, she loves spending time with friends and family, reading, shopping, and rooting on The Toledo Rockets.

Morgan has been with Veterans Matter since 2020. Her favorite part of working at Veterans Matter is reading the success stories from the Veterans Affairs case managers. These stories are sent to us once a Veterans finally moves the streets and into a home of their own. In her free time, she loves spending time with family and volunteering for Big Brothers Big Sisters of NWO.

In 2018, Nick brought a check over to Veterans Matter for $750 – money raised by the students at Horizon Science Academy Toledo (where he works full time as their Community Engagement Coordinator). After a brief discussion in the office, it was decided Nick would come on board to assist with our social media and digital fundraising campaigns. In his free time, you can catch Nick in his kitchen making something delicious.
